Has anyone carried a car topper on a XJS Jeep Cherokee 4 x 4? If so what length and beam was the boat and what type of racks. I have a jayco poptop van and would love to take a boat on my trips. Any ideas would be much appreciated. TA Rick

Hi Rickb
I put an 11ft edge tracker 82kgs on top off my 95 xj towing a 16 ft millard bottom to top of oz from
Bundaberg.I made a rack from 25 by 25 gall box section fitting it to the roof racks.with extra braces at both ends self taped in to the roof rails. then fitted 2 cross rails with end stops to stop the boat moving side ways put blue slide on to help loading, held it all in place with 2 turn buckles and chain this works ,donot use the roof gutters . if wanted i will do a sketch and find a few photos
regards mick

Hi Mick,
Thanks for the info. Was starting to believe that it hadn't been done. Don't want to be to much trouble but a sketch would be good. Photos would be great. Email is rick.bertram@bigpond.com.
Thanks again for your time.
Rick

Hi Mick,
The email address I gave you wasn't quite right. It is rickbertram@bigpond.com.au You can try this and it should work. If it doesn't I will have to think of something else.
Ta Rick
