Just a pat on the back for Evakool. I put our 60l F/F in for a service and got a phone call to say that they found a hair line crack in the lid and was I aware of it. Not I says I and will it make a difference to the temp. No says they but we will fix it anyhow. I have just received the Fridge back and they have replaced the lid with a new one. I rang and they said easier to replace than fix. Bear two things in mind 1. the fridge is three years old and 2. No cost at all. Thats what I call Good Service. Nobby

Nothing wrong with the fridge at all. I just reckon that after three years and for the sake of $30 (service fee) "Why Not". Nobby

But "Why?" Nobby. My fridge is over 30 years old and has never been serviced and still works as it did over 30 years ago. A sealed unit is not serviicable. It either works or leaks or doesn't work and then it is replaced. Same goes for the thermostat. That just leaves looking for damage of the case. I guess $30 for a lid is OK except that it didn't need replacing lol.

Aandy , those were my thoughts , "if it aint broke why fix it" , a fridge is a fridge is a fridge ,not a vehicle that does require periodic and preventative maintenance.

Bought a 'seconds' Evakool Icebox in Brisbane, travelled to Darwin, 18 months after purchase, bluddy dog chewed rubber lid clasps - advised Evakool - replaced no cost - including freight Qld - NT.

Mongrel bluddy dog - but service from Evakool - absolutely fantastic.

Cant go past 'em

You SHOULD pull the cover off and clean the dust from around the compressor / cond coil(s) / cond fan(s) at least once per year - it will keep the fridge working with min current draw.

Thanks for that marq. I knew there was a reason why I spent my $30. Sometimes I wonder why I put in a thread on this site with all the knockers. Still the best $30 I have spent, regardless of what the rest say.Nobby
