Just a quick question about the filter warning light on the dash of 75 series landcruisers.Mine hasn't come, but I was just wondering which filter it refers to.........diesel, air, oil???? I m thinking it would have to be fuel.
we are just about to head off on our trip around Aus, heading north from Mooloolaba, going as far north as cape york and through the Gulf and everything inbetween here and Karratha. Will be looking for work along the way as a chippy if anyone has any contacts????
Has anyone been along the savanah way latley? I am towing my builders trailer and it is not exactly water tight for creek crossings if they're not too deep I should be alright.
Cheers guys
happy travels
Joe

Depends on the model of 75, some had a filter light on both the air filter and the fuel filter. Different lights in different spots on the dash.
Might be worth having a look at the owners manual for your truck.
If the fuel filter light ever comes on stop immediately and drain it as if you continue driving you will suck crap through the filter and into the injection system.
The air filter light is not as critical just indicates that the filter element is clogged and needs cleaning. Tapping it gently as you rotate it on a hard surface will usually knock the worst of the dirt off to casue the light to go out. Again depending on your vehicle some of the genuine fliter elements are washable. Both types are interchangeable and if you are buying a spare buy a washable one which can be reused many times before replacement.

The one on my late model 60 series is connected to the water trap, on the chassis near the back wheel, and indicates that it needs draining.
Maybe similar on a 75?

If memory serves me correct, the fuel filter(water trap type) will a picture of a filter with a squiggly line thru the bottom,if this comes on,time to drain water trap beneath the fuel filter.
Air filter light is a yellow light and has a picture of a rectangle with dots thru-out and some arrows,if this comes on, as previous post indicated, time for clean/replace
