gday all,
the bloke i bought my car off used these caps and am wondering whether to continue using them. anyone had any long term experience with this product. are there any similar alternatives

Some of the injector cleaners will work.
The reason I reckon this guys is full of it is that he says that it burns all of the fuel in the cylinder and lowers the exhaust temp.
Well, if you send some unburned fuel down the exhaust it actually lowers the exhaust temp. All exhausts have the appearance of flame in them - it's partly the ionised gases and partly real flame. Watch any engine with straight pipes at night time and you will see the flames. Before the days of egt gauges old time pilots used to set the mixture control (leaning the fuel as the aircraft goes higher) by watching the exhaust flames, blue tip for lean and pink tip for rich. I have an old spark plug with a special glass insert so that you could set your carby by watching the flame colour in the cylinders - works
well.
