Hi to all,
I have just had LPG installed on my NL Exceed.
When I picked up the car after the conversion, I was told I couldn't use the gas because I would need to have the spark-plud tube seals replaced as oil was leaking into them.

Could someone please tell me how much that is likely to cost me and any recommended Pajero mechanics who would do the job?

I live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne - in the Knox area.

Thank you.

Why would or does oil leaking into 'spark plark seals' affect LPG and not petrol.

Also why have these dudes fitted a product and then tell you that you can't use it.

I have LPG on an old Nissan Bluebird whose engine has oill and other chit all over it including the spark plugs and it makes no difference.

The LPG has been on there since 1986 and hasn't missed a beat

Repco have them, very easy for you to change. What's it got to do with the gas ??? And how did they know ?? If they had the plugs out why didn't they tell you and change the 'O' rings ?? Not sure I would trust those guys as they are either feeding you crap or incompetent !

I have read elsewhere that people experiencing backfire problems have had success by fitting high quality plug leads. Would oil contaminating the lead have a detrimental effect on the spark produced at the plug?? Maybe the experts can answer that one.
