I plan to travel around Australia for 5 months since October . Would someone give me some advice or itinerary, coz I have no idea about it now. I do wanna go some big cities, and I like beaches pretty much. Could you guys help me to design my trip?
Cheers.

You'll need to factor in the wet season if you go north too late. Where are you from?

There's tons of good advice in the archives. Do a search on "around Australia" or similar .

If you have only 5 months, and as it will be mostly in the summer, choose 2 or 3 of the southern states and spent your time there, eg Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia.

Hey Fei - this is so easy because you have only 2 choices if you want to go around Australia. You can go either clockwise or anticlockwise. To go clockwise keep the sea on your left side. To go anticlockwise keep the sea on your right side. If you want big cities and beaches stay in sight of the ocean because all the big cities are on the coast. Don't plan an itinerary as it's much better to work it out as you go and stay in places you enjoy. If you don't enjoy a place then move on. Stop at the big "I" in every town for tourist Information. Travelling around Australia is so easy as there are no borders, passports, language or currency changes. Some people make it seem hard and refer to it as "The Big One". This always makes me laugh as it is such an easy journey. I regard an ascent of Everest or a hike to the south pole as a big one. An around Oz trip is a walk in the park.

Fei, If you're camping out let me suggest that when you are ready to go take a walk 3 times around your vehicle and the camp site checking that everything is tied down and closed up and that odd items aren't still sitting around. Amazing how many times I have found things on the second or third circuit.
Good luck. Harry
