I am looking at a Coota camper and are trying to source some further information on their off road ability and usage. I realise they are a heavy unit, but many of the single axle units are now getng up around the ton with all the add on draw bar boxes etc. I would interested to hear about anyones experience with these trailers.

Simon,

I had my offroad trailer built by Jim at Coota Campers. His single axled campers are identical in the suspension as mine (see my Rig pics).

The one that he had at the factory was fully loaded and didn't require the jockey wheel to support the front of the draw bar.

The air bag suspension system was unbelievable as it had the ability to lift a wheel off the ground which made wheel changing very easy as well as easier reversing.

I think he was changing the stainless storage system to a ply construction to reduce weight as well.

All in all I think it was a very well built camper and I wish I had the dollars to buy one.

Cheers Kev

Thanks Kev for the feedback. I was speaking with Coota Campers last week and they are no longer making these trailers.
cheers, simon.

Looks like I had my trailer made just in time then, it's less than 12 months old.

I am sure that there is someone else on here that has one made by a different manufacturer.

Cheers Kev
