I topped up the tanks at Southern Cross BP would have been close to 350lts on board, I am Towing a 20ft Caravan, I added $90 into the rear tank that was still showing 1/4 at the Ceduna BP but did not begin to use it,I continued on using the front tank until the GPS reading was 1924klm I then switched over to the rear tank because the that annoying low fuel must have been getting close to coming on, I feel I could have gotten the 2000klm without a fuel stop ,
With the results like that I should have no problem doing the CSR without a fuel stop, without the van I should get around 2800klm / 3000klm, Got into the Pt Augusta Caravan Park at Stirling North at 7:45 pm

Your consumption figures without the van are about right at 11.66l/100km (based on 300km from 350l) Your towing figures are a tad high at 17.5l/100km though. Your post reads as though it is a scheduled report on your progress Doug so forgive me but I haven't seen any other reports from you and therefore I don't know what your vehicle is or even whether it is petrol or diesel. Can't really give any more feedback except to say all of the details in your report seem accurate and normal. Enjoy the CSR - it's a great trip!

Just noticed your headline reference to a troopy. Wow a 20 footer on a troopy will test the patience a bit!! Had a mate with one a few years back and he always said it started to slow down when it saw a hill coming. Anyhow I guess speed is not an important factor for you so enjoy the scenery!

Nice recall Aandy:
Woof.
I was about to skitch up the Boss, but it's more than my life is worth.
No Mate, you're ok. Good to see that you're scanning.
Regards,
Jeff.

No it's not a scheduled report and I'm not a motoring journalist, Just thought some other people who own a 1994 Diesel non turbo Troopy with 706,000klm on the clock might have some interest from my post but it seems all it did was attract the scrutineers, and NO i'm not going on the CSR yet , my comment was that if I can tow a 20ft van for 1924klm without having a fuel stop I should be able to do the same Klms on the CSR ....WITHOUT a van on the fuel carried and then go halfway back again

Doug

Thanks for posting this info.

So you are heading east with the Van in tow. Is this a relocation of just a holiday? How far east are you going?

What Long Range tank do you have installed and where is it located?

Regards
Dick
Cheers
Dick
