Here is a word of advice regarding Landrover Discoveries Series 2 vehicles. A common problem is a faulty ABS modulator that controls ABS, Traction control and
hill descent.
Mine was faulty and constantly would come on with all 3 warning lights. Anyway after several mechanics looking at it I had 2 options buy a new ABS modulator for AUD $4000 or a 2nd hand one for $1500 and about $100 instalation.
Well I was ready to sell the Disco after this news as I was told units are rare, anyway I searched Ebay got one from Nth America brand new and including shipping paid $1200 so there you go. So hope this helps some of u disco owners

The biggest worry would be whether it is the exact same unit.
Lots of vehicles sold in Australia have different settings in the ABS to suit our road conditions.

traveller2, the ECU and ABS modulator for the TD5 or V8 Disco 2 is identical world wide.

Hi Traveller2,
What different road conditions do think might be encountered in Australia from the USA ?

Never having been to the US I've no idea but from reading motoring articles on ABS especially when it was introduced quite a few manufacturers had to fine tune their ABS for Aussie conditions especially on dirt.

Exactly ! It's just an excuse the importers use to justify exhorbitant price differences.
Have a look at Youtube 4WD videos - the only difference is that they drive on the other side of the road.

Parts are available so they can often be reconditioned much cheaper - but are u sure it was the modulator and not a sensor or the wiring to a sensor - mechanics often say it is the modulator when it is not and they are too lazy to check the system out properly.
