Hey Guys was wondering if anyone knows of some good fishing spots where you can
camp within say an hour of Rocky. I am up there for a week for uni and would like to do an over nighter here and there for a break. A place where you can
camp and wet a line as close as possible to the
camp would be just what Im after.
Thanks
Charlie

Hey Charlie!
By Rocky you mean
Rockhampton? I'd suggest you duck up to
Byfield NP which is prob a touch more than an hour from Rocky but
well worth it! From Rocky head out to
Yeppoon then North to
Byfield. Awesome spot - if you do a bit of a search on this
Forum under "Byfield" you'll dig up a bit of info on it! Good
camping, great fishing, nice and quiet - beautiful!
Have fun! :-)

Hehehe and from
Byfield its just a quick skip in a tinne into SWBTA and the muddies in there are awesome!! Just watch out the 5 Aviation guys and the
ranger get very protective of their secret spot!!!!
Seriously fantastic spot just pack lots of Rid and dont stir up the sand too much and you might survive the sandflies...then its only the mozzies you need to deal with.
You really cant go wrong...
Yeppoon, Emu Plains,
Byfield

Thanks guys. Have had a bit of a look on the net sounds like a goer.
BTW...
I always travel back down the coast road but was thinking of taking a couple of days to get back via country towns any suggestions? I might post this as a different question or topic if not many people see it.
Thanks for the input,
charlie

If you're just heading back to Brissy and depending on how far inland you want to go, head back through Biloela, and
camp at Cania Gorge just before
Monto - really nice spot! Then follow the road south through Mundubbera, Gayndah, Tansey, Kilkivan and Gympie and you're back on the highway!
Might do better if you make a new post with this as the question but!
Cheers
Scoey!
