Shock Absorbers

I'm after a shock absorber that has the same resistant's to compress as to extend .
This is not for a 4wd or any car it's to limit the tilt on a pivoting platform.
Hope someone can point me in the right direction.I fitted a second hand shocker to the platform and it works
well on the extension but compresses too quickly.

How about an RTC as in return to centre steering damper ?

Have you thought about a gas strut similar to boot or bonnet struts?

Yes I just read on the Ironman site all their foamcell shocks are 50/50.

Any old steering damper is equal in both directions.
A gas strut is not. It pushes in one direction only.
