Hello Everyone,
Just wondering if any other Land Cruiser owners (100 series) have had cracks in the support for the rear(pop out) quarter window. Its the extrusion that runs vertical which holds the glass panel.
Thanks in advance
Damon..

yes, i had them replaced under warranty(they argued about the glass being a whole unit but eventually got just the strip) but they have now cracked again. The cracks are about 2/3 up from the bottom and on both sides. I thought that maybe the roof rack loading might have been an issue but cant see that it would do it.
What year is your cruiser?
mine is a 2003 TD
Cheers, Rob

Hey Rob
2003 petrol (V8) no roof racks .
Noticed the crack a few weeks ago spoke to toyota and will only cover half the retail cost , no labour.
$566 quoted cost of replacement.
Have noticed other 100s in carparks with same cracking.
How many have to crack to become a recall?

Hi Damon and Rob,
I have just read the thread and have gone outside to check my 2004 100 series TD and sure enough I have a crack 2/3 up from the bottom on the passenger’s side.
Do the cracks present any problems such as letting in
water or developing into major cracks that will weaken the window mounting? or should we just ignore them.
I am interested in your thoughts on the matter.
Regards,
Matt

Hi all,
Both sides on
mine are cracked and have been for years. Never seen
water come in because of it.
Mine has done some hard kms and will have about 300,000 km on it by Christmas.
I'm not too worried about it.
Regards
Dave

One side of
mine is cracked.
My assessment was that it was plastic fatigue due to sun, and that the extrusion itself was only superficial and not part of the sealing arrangement for the window...
Mine is about 1mm wide as of today.
Cheers
Andrew.

Does it have to be a safety issue for a recall to be issued?
Why have so many failed?
