I have a Magnum twin cylinder, belt driven air compressor, the Magnum company went out of business back in the mid 90's, my question is, does anybody out there have an electromagnetic clutch that they wish to part with, the clutch i have is a mechanically operated dog clutch, which is a bit of a pain having to stop the motor and engage the clutch, then start the motor again, thanking you all in advance. Thanks for the reply Rox, however i have already tried this avenue, the problem is all the aircon pulleys i've looked at are to big ( 5" & up ) and have tapered shafts, the pulley i need, has to be at maximum 4" with a straight shaft , regards, Dave.

Have a look at a late model toyota or similar small car they have smaller (around 4") clutches.
You can get a machinist to make a sleeve to fit the clutch to your shaft.
