Canning Stock Route Partners

Hello!
We are three people who want to do the CSR with a Toyota Landcruiser between 10th and 30th of September. Did anyone know how to find partners with a second vehicle for this journey!
Thanks a lot
Peter

Peter, which way do you intend to travel, South to North or North to South. What model Landcruiser and how it is equipped.

I could be interested, have a 79 Series Land Cruiser but not sure I could make the timing.

Hello Dick,

we intend to travel from Wiluna to Halls-Creek. We rent a Toyota Troopcarrier Landcruiser with one roof-top-tent, two spare tires, split rim Wheels, 4,2 l engine, 180 l gas tank, high lift jack and much more special equipment.

Cheers
Peter

Hi Peter

I have an extremely well equipped Toyota 79 Series Landcruiser which is similar to your Troopcarrier and it is well set up for remote area operations however, I don't think I could get organised in time to make the trip with you. The Canning is an extremely remote area and with the tanks I have which are the same as yours, I would need to arrange two refuellings to be safe and I don't think I have time to arrange a fuel dump at Well 23. Most other things I could do in time but the fuel seems to be the show stopper for me.

I hope you have a good trip.

Cheers

Hi Peter,

Then you seem to have all the big problems in hand so I hope the trip goes well for you. Please post a report for us when you can.

Where are you from? Stuttgart? You should be driving a Mercedes.

Dick

Up here in Hedland and looking to do the CSR with my Patrol. Not sure if I can get the time off work though with such short notice. But who knows?

Good luck with finding travel partners. You may be lucky in finding someone who is ready to go, but it may be a little late for some to prepare for such a large undertaking. The Canning requires a level of prep that other tracks may not. If you don't end up making it this year, maybe we will see you out there next year when we are there in Augus.

Hi Peter,

The CSR is a great trip. I did it in '05.

Have you ordered your fuel yet? Got your communications plan sorted?

For such a complex trip you seem to be leaving your planning a little late.

I'm guessing you are visiting Australia. This is a trip most Australian's who tackle it would spend nearly a year planning for, and several months setting up a vehicle for.

It's definately not to be undertaken lightly.

That said, it is fantastic out there. Presuming you go, travel safely, and enjoy it. Good luck finding fellow travellers.

Hi,

many thanks for your answers.
Yesterday we decided to do the Gunbarrel and the Gibb River Road instead of the Canning.
