I plan to put 2 of them in the camper thats 200amp for the $ of other brands(130amp). Life expectancy ? I think I'll give e'm a try.Around Oz 06/2004

Having more than 100 amp battery is not always a good move
Two batteries should be avoided if possible
Do not buy the battery until you are ready to leave
Why do you want or think you need 2 x 100 amp batteries

Please elaborate on your comments as I am interested... I have a Jayco Finch with 2 batteries - one sealed cell under the seat inside as per standard Jayco installation and another (cheaper car battery) on the drawbar. I have a rotary switch to select either one or the other and I simply alternate the usage and charging as required. I find 2 batteries very handy if I'm camped for say 3 or 4 days - I can simply swap to the other battery when needed and this avoids having to hook up to the car just to top the charge up. I know it's a bit of a manual system but it has worked well for me for a couple of years now. When at home, I trickle charge the batteries occasionaly via a time switch.

Nothing wrong with a good manual system
If you camp for 3 to 4 days then 2 batteries would be good if you have no other method of charging them.

Looks like you know what you are doing and for camping for an extended period 2 batteries are better than one. A manual system if setup correctly will work well.

"Why do you want or think you need 2 x 100 amp batteries" because I plan to stop in places for up to 1 week. 40Lt Engel + 2x11wfluros = about 50amp/Day. Discharging 200 amps 50% is better than 100amp discharge 100% if I stay shorter.Around Oz 06/2004

Sounds good to me!
I currently have 2 x 75 amp/hour batteries which are getting tired (5yrs old!!).
Am about to upgrade and will try to go for 2x 100 A/H and am looking around as we speak- have to do something before the end of the month. I've been offered some Trojans at a bloody good price but WAY dearer than that!
I'd rather have more A/H and flatten them less, as that's the best way to extend their life. (other killers are heat and vibration- vibration being the hardest thing to avoid.....)
Cheers
