I am looking at upgrading my vehicle to a Mazda Bravo 4wd Dual Cab petrol 1999. I have been trawling the net trying to identify any issues with the vehicle and/or reasons I should or should not buy one- but cannot find much information. It will be the only car for the family. Will not be used for commuting. We tow a Jayco Finch. Does anyone on this
forum have knowledge of any recurrent problems with Bravos and/or any reasons to buy or not to buy?
Cheers

Need to tow a fuel tanker behind you. They slurp petrol like kids on a drinking binge. 5th gear packs up without towing and expensive to repair. Used to work in a dealership. I would not buy Ford/Mazdo of that vintage and never a Rodeo. Best buy will be a Mitsi Triton as bugger all goes wrong with them.

In the Mitsi Triton the 5th gear bearing sometimes goes but is cheap to do compared to Ford/Mazda. You have to work out the Mitsi for the bearing to pack up.

SARocks,
Thanks for that. So far I haven't seen any Tritons in my price range with low ks but I haven't looked too hard so will widen my search. Probably why the Bravo is a bit cheaper. The only thing I don't mind is the gearbox issues as am great mates with a gear box specialist who has assisted me in the past, but I am concerned with the fuel economy as
well as how the 2.6 would go towing. Appreciate the assistance.
Cheers

Brizmatt,
What's the price range, I'll be offloading
mine in the not to distant future (4 -6 weeks).
My fuel economy with the V6 3.0L around town is about 14L/100km and towing about 17-18L/100km
Cheers Kev
And for those who wshl comment it will be listed in the Trader when the time comes :))

around $15. My main stipulation is under 100ks. I not too concerned about age but low kms are a must. But am getting scared about consumption.
