Hey guys..
Stumbled across Picasa so giving it a go with my photos.
I have 2 lots of photos that were taken via the inlaws digital camera, I've put them on the pc, but the photos are huge and I need to resize them. I only know of one way to resize photos and that is with another program I have (that I'd have to load onto comp) and have to resize one by one.
Does Picasa resize? (I couldn't see anything on it) or is there an online program anyone knows of that I can use to resize that would be alot easier than the program I have?

Cheers
Jo

A program called Xnview (free of course) will do that and much more very easily.

When you begin to upload the photos in picasa it will ask you to select an album or create a new one and it will give you 3 options of size of photos to upload...we use the middle selection...
check out here
My Picasa photots
so no need to rezise before you upload..

Thanks! yeh I figured I wouldn't need to resize them for picasa, I should have been a bit clearer.

I need to resize them for in my pictures, so say I wanted to add a photo to an email, the photo would be normal size not huge!
I can use the program I have but it really is a pain, wasn't sure if I might have been able to do it on picasa and it send it back to my pictures type thing.

Got it all sussed now thanks Graham, except for one thing..
The URL that it has given me, I copy and pasted it into google to see if it works and it doesn't.

So how do I do a link for it just like you did for yours above?

Dont really know what you mean Jo, but the url for my Flinders photos ishttp://picasaweb.google.com/grahcom/2006FlindersRangesTrip
if I google that it will not came back with anything, but if i just put that into the web browser address bar it will coe back with my Flinders photo album.

Now if you want to do the link like I did in my reply to you selectthe insert link button on the menu at the bottom of the reply window.... My flinders album
put in the link and the description and then submit it...

I email my photos directly from Picasa - it reduces the photo to an email friendly size. Just the same way Windows Explorer does.

have fun

I prefer easy thumbs, which is one of a number of free programmes for changing the size of groups of photos at once.http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/index.php?2.8

I love Picasa for straightening my photos when i get sloping horizons - the best for that.

unless you intend only ever viewing them online, I would suggest not reducing their size in Picasa... do it when emailing like someone else suggested.

You want that additional image size when printing them... and probably you will want it in 5 years time when we get really high resolution monitors and faster broadband.

Cheers
Andrew.

I guess everyone has their favourite, but most programs you can batch resize. Photoshop does.

My favourite program for photo adjustments of all kinds is Print Shop Pro and you can get a copy of the program here:

PSP7

Make sure you download the following otherwise your PSP7 won't work.

You will need the following two DLL files in order for some filters to work.

1. Plugin.dll .......... Unzip this file to C:/Windows folder

2. Msvcrt10.dll ...... Unzip this file to C:/Windows folder/System
