Dual zone fridge

Good evening Trendsetters,

I am in the process of buying a new fridge and i would like know if any of you peoples have used the engel dual/zone fridge/freezer.
I am leaning towards a dual zone unit because i will be choofing around for 1-2 years, do you think a freezer section is really req? or what do you guys do for a freezer section in your fridge.
Also does anyone own a Sidewinder unit?

Regards

Stephen

Stephen

I have a Two-zone sitting atop my 32lt Engel.

I run the fridge on freeze at all times and the Two-zone works well.

However, the Two-zone struggles in the Tropics near the coast where the humidity is high.

Cheers

g'day mate. i cant comment on the two zone but i have a waeco 110l which works a treat and would seem as though it would run a similar system just side by side.

the sidewinder setup from abr is fantastic and very well built. i have had no probs with mine at all and i have a 100 a/h battery in there which derek also supplied.

cheers,
Tom

you mat find the dual/zone struggel in the tropics, because the cooling element is only in the freezing section.leaving the fridge section to cool its self of the freezer.this has an uneven cooling afect on your fridge,(no good if you want a cold beer.id stay away from dual/zone in nort aus.just my 2 cents worth

Thanks for your input so far guys the unit which i am interested in are the ones like ABR's fridge the engel 60l or the evakool type with a freezer section built in not a bolt on type setup.

As long as the fish stays frozen and the beer are nice and cold i will be a happy camper.
