Are there any Dtronics or other brands available to improve the performance of the new V8 Landcruiser yet?

151kw / 430nm leaves a lot of room for improvement.

Hi Topend
I have installed diesel gas australia LPG on my diesel D22 Navara 3ltr turbo, and I had it put on the dyno before and after so i knew what benifits i had gained , first i put on a 2.5 in. exhaust system gained 8 kws., then with the gas fitted i have a total of 110kws and 421 nms at the back wheels . It started off at 77 kws and 314 nm at the back wheels. It makes a for a great tow viehcle and great economy. you should contact Diesel Gas Australia For more information , can you imagine what it do for a V8 75 series . All the best Frankn

Sounds like an ad to me... a Dtronic is nothing like a diesel/Gas conversion.

Topend, do you have a V8? Have you driven one yet? We've had a V8 diesel ute since April and very happy with it and it's performance. Fuel consumption isn't as good as suggested by Toyota but ours is improved by a 3" exhaust. There was discussion on this subject back a couple of months on this Forum - and I still don't understand why anyone would want to void their warranty. We also tow about 2.5 tonnes with ours.

A currently tow a boat that comes in at 3000kg on the trailer. I'm looking at upgrading to a bigger boat that will come in at 3500kg with a light fuel load.

My query is really about the likelyhood of a power upgrade for the 200 Series when it comes out. I figure if some has an upgrade for the TDV8 70, then they will do one for the TDV8 200.

Thanks for the input.

Topend, that makes things a little clearer - BUT, it's only rumoured that the 200 is not so good performance-wise. Again, tho, what about your warranty? (No-one ever answers that). Ha ha.

Hi Ruth D,

Warranty is something to concider. I had a Dtronic on a TD100 that did 155000km without any problems. One of the aftermarket suppliers (can't remember which one right now) offers a warranty and I think this will push others to follow. It is something I will worry about when the time comes.
