Greetings all, can anyone tell me the biggest gas tank you can get under a 4.5 GU, and the biggest subtank. Also, has anyone done one of those new Gas injection type systems and what do ya reckon on them .
Many thanks
Scott

I have a 110Lt (95 - 100Lt useable) gas tank and have just replaced the 40 Lt petrol sub tank with an 80 Lt long range sub tank.

The only issue with gas is that it is not available when you head into more remote areas. Crossed the Simpson a few weeks back and took another 70Ltrs in Jerry's. Ran on Petrol using the gas as reserve only as unable to replenish.

Cheers, already got a GQ on duel fuel but looking to upgrade and was wondering if you can get bigger tanks under the GU. Where did you get your sub tank from and can I ask the price>
Many thanks

My sub tank is from 4WD Systems. It was somewhere between $650 and $700 from memory. I fitted it myself but next time would spend the $350 quoted for fitting in a flash.

Blo@dy Shocking!

There is only marginal diff between the gas and petrol. The 80 Lt petrol only gets 300 - 350 k's.

The 100 lt gas is probably about 350 k's

Yeah, about the same as my GQ, pretty crap. Do you find it has enough oomph for towing etc as my GQ (338,000) can be left wanting sometimes.

Don't do a lot of towing sorry so can't say. It is a bit of a "lumbering giant" and no sports car but not much it doesn't seem to handle if given time to do it.

There is little noticeable difference in performance between gas and petrol except that I have a flat spot when on gas (more noticeable around town than when on the road).

I have a 110l gas tank and a 75l petrol tank on my GU

I believe you can get a bigger fuel tank , but I didn't bother.

When I was researching the gas conversion, I was told by a couple of knowledgable people , that the new gas injection systems dont provide any great benefit to the 4.5 GU. The older system works plenty well enough.

Completely different story for the 4.8, which I understand, HAS to have the new injection system fitted.

Had my gas conversion for just over 12 months now. Haven't had a problem yet.

I get approx 350 k's out of gas , and about the same out of petrol.
