We are about to buy two new Toyota 79 Utes for use as service trucks, out here the 79 still comes with the good old 1HZ. Now I know there are a few choices out there for alternators as welders, but does anyone know of any company selling a straight bolt-on solution for the 1HZ. Figured that if anyone is doing it then it must be an Australian! Many thanks in advance,
Gil

This one is made in OZ (WA)
Have a unit that cannot be stolen or damaged as it fits under the bonnet, is self contained and outlasts the vehicle.
Have 240 volt facility to utilise angle grinder, and other construction tools.
Have a facility to boost - charge dead vehicles and plant, up to 48 volts and 175 amps in 3 minutes.
Weld up to a 8 gauge (4.0mm) rod continuously with reverse polarity facility.
Have the facility to work at night with floodlights and weld simultaneously

No affiliation, just a good product.

I priced them a couple of weeks ago Stu and they start at $3400.00. Bit out of reach for the average Joe unfortunately as they look to be a real handy unit as they have a 2.5kva generator and 230amps of dc charging capability on top of the 165 amp welder.
