Thnx for all the replies on my
suspension query. I have two more Q's,
1:
What is the expected 'standard' hight of a GU Patrol with standard springs? I went to my local ARB store who said I should measure from the bottom of each wheel rim to the bottom of each guard arch. All 4 measure 760mm. Will a 2" lift kit add another 50mm or is the term 2" lift just that, a gimmicky term?
2:
I am narrowing it down to 2 Australian-made choices in coils; King Springs or Dobinsons (ARB guy recommended Old Man Emu but nobody on this
forum did).
Just leaves the shocks now, Old Man Emu Nirtochargers or Koni or I have seen Dobinsons shocks also mentioned
Please comment to ease my choice
Now on a completely different subject, how much should I expect to pay for a second-hand full length aluminium gutter mount Tracklander roof rack with ladder (Approx 7yrs old)?

Q1: I found ARB don't recommend anything but their own products.
Q 2: I found OME Nitrochargers didn't like the heavy corrugations, and my King Springs sagged very quickly.
I'm now running Koni Shocks ? Lovell springs and very happy with them.
The ladder is worth less than half than new price, or what ever you want to pay for it.

I have Old Man Emu Shocks and Springs on a GQ giving a 50mm lift. This
suspension has now done 60,000km over long distance outback tracks and some other extreme trekking(1200km of the Anne Beadell and some offtrack driving) and I have only good things to say about it. There has been very little sag. So far I have repleced one shockabsorber bush. My
Port Augusta ARB bloke reckons the OME shock should last for 80,000km. I run Polyairs on the rear as I tow an 800kg bush trailer fully loaded. Not sure of the price of an OME setup now but I paid $1220 in 2005 for the
suspension including fitting.
Cheers

G'Day perthburts
I recently helped my brother in law install a 2" lift set up in his GU. To answer the question about a 2"lift ,The measurement of 760mm. will change about 100mm, giving your vehicle a lift of about 50mm=2" at the chassis.
Hope this helps.
Cheers BoldJack
