Just received new LG TU550 and found the ring time very short before going to message bank. I was able to extend to eight ring's before it diverts . A visit to the telstra
shop fixed it. Nothing in the menu to do this.
This must be another telstra money making scheme.
We are off next week ,three months trip to the WA via
Melbourne,Alice,
Kimberley's on to
Perth and back home via the Simpson.
If the reception on the new phone is as good as our next g mobile internet on the laptop I will be very happy. Not taking the TV so will looking to the EO
forum for entertainment.

There is a code that you type in and dial to change the period.

To Cancel the diverts to Message Bank the code is
# # 21 # send [or yes]
Telstra set all new mobile accounts to divert after 2 rings to message bank.

Big Al,
Do you have an external antenna for the TU 550?
I will be very interested to hear about your experiences, especially if you can compare it to CDMA.
I am off to central Queensland in a few days, but I'm staying with CDMA for now,
Cheers

I have a antenna on the Turbo modem for the laptop and I am getting a lead made up for the phone connection. The antenna gives a extra 4 bars in our home location.
Hope to report on our progress and track conditions / phone reception etc. when we can

G'day,
dial this sequence...
**61*101**25#
then press "send" or whatever you do to make the call
should extend the ring time to 25 secs.

You can also put '30' instead of the '25' to extend the ring time, too. We were out
Monto way, 40 kms from the nearest town a couple of months ago and my LG worked better than hubby's Motorola. Also found that one of the pins on his charger had fallen off, so he couldn't plug in to recharge phone.

Can you please advise if that code works only for Telstra users or will it work for Optus as
well.
Thanks
Debbie

Most of the codes are specific to the service provider. Easy way is to drop into an Optus world. Most of them really know there products. Or look on the web site. It has to be easier to find than on the Telstra site.

Debbie,
I think for Vodaphone you type "333" instead of "101" and for Optus try "321".
don't think you can set it for longer than 30 secs though.

Hi
If the last 2 digits were 15 would that be a divert after 15 secs. Also how would you change back if you didn't like the divert time you had set.
thanks
Paul

Paul
Just re-enter the numbers with the desired number of rings at the end.

My experience with LG phones is they make pretty good TV's, fridges and DVD players.
I've gone back to Nokia.

Hi Brew,
I have had trouble with their TV's and DVD players so that leaves them as a good fridge maker in my book LOL!!!!!!! Their warranty is about as valuable as Nissan's warranty. After sales service was non existent with both companies.
Cheers, Trevor.

sure is another Telstra cash grab.
message bank charges went up more than 3 times and nobody said anytihng.
to clear message bank now costs about 50c for 30 sec. I switched message bank off and get the free SMS and phone back in the free My hour.
