hi all heading up to
karumba from
townsville.want to stop for the first night at
einasleigh.just wondering if anyone knows of any
camping spots there or along the river

We
camp on the
Einasleigh river at
Einasleigh every year. If you come in from the Mt Surprise side, when you get to the
bridge crossing you will see a track on your right, goes for about 100mtrs
camp there.
But having said that either side would not matter.
It is about 2km from the Pub.

yep like he said ... cruise down to the big sandy river bed ..(most of the time sandy that is)...pull up a
camp under one of the trees and prepare to be comforted by the sound of nothing
beautiful
p.s. check out
the gorge while your there...just ask a local for directions

Don't forget to visit the pub, some characters get there.
One bloke who had been there all day confided in me that none of the regulars were alcoholics, because none went to meetings
Pub proudly boasts " GULP Country " and there is Chloe hanging on the wall over bar.
