I had a call from a old friend this afternoon. He wanted some information on a Coleman
water heater.
I never seen these things. Anyone have information that I can pass on (good or bad)?
Regards
Kim

Well Kim M , we have had ours for the last 3yrs and would not leave home to go
camping without it , even on the odd occasion that we
camp in a c/van
park with showers ect the Coleman still plays a part , instant hot
water for washing up ect ,, if you type in Coleman or hot
water into the SEARCH function you will find 3 or 4 days worth of reading both good and bad on the System.

Hairy
I thought you packed the bags, and headed off to the big lights of
Leonora? (along with the fancy GPS unit). The pubs are a little more up market than Scubby town.
Also, the
Wiluna Hilton up north is a gas on Saturday nights. Best Latte in the country!
LOL

I've got a Coleman , there was a bad batch which got replaced. Primus also makes a unit similar Coleman which might be just as good.

Kim
Should have asked me the other day (if you knew then....).
Ours is basically new to the camper (coming up 10 months I think)but we purchased on the advice of a fellow camper and are completely happy. As someone says, apart from the shower the hot
water comes in handy at times instead of boiling the billy. Especially when the grand kids are with us.
BIL purchased an alternative and we gave up on it and they showered under the Coleman.
Is it cheap?? NO (altho I see Aussie Disposals now sell them at nearly $100 less the Rays price when we purchased.
Is it cheap to run?? Probably not as cheap as a billy on the fire.
Is it convenient?? You bet.

Hi Kim
We have a Coleman and so glad we do too. As already posted maybe not cheap to run but for convenience sake it's worth every cent.
Also the only 2 things I don't like is the hose, too stiff, but we will change it over to a more flexible longer hose and it's claim to be able to make hot cups of teas and coffees.........not likely!!! It's only hot enough to put in the billy and then boil as needed for your cuppas, which we do.

Hi Kim,
We have had one for 3 years and love it.
It is completely self contained and just needs a
water supply for continuous hot
water. It has an internal 6V rechargable battery to run the pump and igniter and uses the small disposable Coleman cylinders. Most are packaged these days with an accessory hose that will run them off a external gas bottle as
well.
The disposable cylinders can also be refilled using a "Mac Coupler" from the US (search for "Mac Coupler" on here for details)
A spare battery doesnt go astray either - they can't be used off 12V and will not run while charging.
Cheers
