Looked into adjusting tappets on a td 27 nissan ohv turbodiesel but would anyone know how to rotate the engine after you've removed the rocker cover...?
Diesels got big torque after all. There's no room to turn the engine with a spanner anyway.
Anyone tried hooking up your winch to a tree and then using the hand controller to pull the car in say 4th gear for the engine to rotate by the car's
wheels moving it and thus achieving correct position of the rocker arms in order to adjust the tappets..?
Or am I too ambitious and unskilled...?

easiest way is to turn the motor over with the key .
just stick your hand through the window and crank while watching the rockers. its slow but it works
or get a wire long enough to go from the starter where the ignition wire goes and touch it on the battery as you watch.
cheers
