Not sure what type of motor but speed controllers are a standard item at electical parts outlets , and these also plenty of kits available from places like Jaycar etc.

A bit depends on how many amps this small motor will draw (and the amp draw increases dramatically when a small motor is under load.

You could wire up a speed controller - the type you find in Remote Control Cars, Planes and Trains. The simplest and cheapest were the mechanical speed control. To use an electric speed control is more complex and expensive. Your local R/C or model shop may be able to help.

Alternatively, the controller from a variable speed drill.

Tell us more about the motor, the application and exactly what you wish to achieve.

Hi all thanks for your replys.....i really need something simple im no electro proffesor so its got to be simple. I want to control a small motors speed from slow to flat out but must be hands free operation so I cant hold in a button like on a drill.
I have seen these speed control units in the US and I know you used to be able to get them here but cant find them anywhere.
