Just posted a reply to dunworkin but thought It would be nice to show our appreciation to this site. After many late nights using this site to collect all possible information for our trip to the Kimberleys from the Sunshine Coast we had a fantastic trip. I believe this is a great place to get vasts' amount of knowledge and as we did, sort out all the applicable information. We travelled the Plenty and the Tanami also the GRR and the Buchannan and Duncan. All were a great experience. Was a strange coincidence meeting Willem in the middle of nowhere at a chance stop what a small world. We also met dunworkin at Elquesrto, which by the way is a magnificent place and
well worth the money, we believe anyway. For all those thinking about doing it ,go for it , what an experience. The Kimberleys are so unique as are the people who live there. So many beautiful
camp sites on rivers like the Ord and the Pentecost and Georgina and the list goes on. Thanks again to all those that post this information for their fellow travellers.
Cheers Cath

Hi Cath
Yes, a small world indeed.
Good to hear that you had a good trip. The
Kimberley is a great place and I was fortunate enough to visit there in the mid 1980's when there was a lot less traffic!
We had a good trip as
well to
Darwin where I dropped my mate George, off, and then another mate flew north and accompanied me back to the south again. Stayed off the bitumen for as much as I could and saw some great wide open spaces. I arrived home on 17th August and am now in the throes of altering the truck and the trailer for the next excursion to somewhere new.
Cheers
