ARB Air lockers / Compressor location.

In that location inside the cabin the noise and vibration will be very noticeable, and I would find it unacceptable.
Not sure if there is any smell, as my compressor is under the bonnet [LC 100 IFS].

I had a Twin Tongue installed under the passenger seat in my previous LC100 . Yes - there was the predictable noise, but ceratinly no semll or vibration . I lived with it.

We have ours behind drivers seat. As for noise/vibration?? The compressor is only running to pump up the tyres or a short spurt to activate the lockers...
As for smell- ARB will fit líl tubes that run from the actuation solenoid to outside the vehicle..
In summary- no problems !!

Hi Not sure what the problem is. I have dual batteries and Front and Rear Air Lockers in my Prado with TWO ARB air compressors under my bonnet.

We used to have a 90s Prado with a ARB locker on the back and the compressor was located under the passengers seat.

Never had any problem with smell
Noise was OK, it only came on very briefly when using the rear locker, otherwise it was used to pump up the tyres.
No vibration problem either

If we had to have it under the seat again - wouldn't care less as it was no problem before - now we have a LC105 with plenty of room under the hood.

just interested to know why you wouldn't use your existing air compressor to also run the diff locks?

What size compressor are we talking about. You already have one under the bonnet so I presume the second one is for the diff locker in which cqase ARB have a very small one for that purpose.

Alternatively get the bigger one and mount it where the bushranger one is and sell that

I had the ARB compressor under the front passenger seat in my GQ and it was never a problem to me or my passengers.

When I had one installed in the GU it was put under the bonnet and I had probs with it overheating. Moved it inside under the passenger seat again and it is all good.

Also with it under the passenger seat I can easily reach all tyres including the trailer with the standard ARB air hose. (Not that I use the ARB one I have a home made jobbie that is much nicer.)

If are already have Max Air under bonnet then just use it for lockers... This is what I did...
