I have just fitted a set of GT Adventuro 265x70x16 tyres on my 80 series Landcruiser, they are great in handleing also very quiet on bitumen roads.
I won't mention the brand name of the ones that I replaced but have found out very bad reports on delaminating problems etc, and that is one of the main reasons for change plus the quieter and softer ride, along with better control.

If theres a good side to delamination, its that the tyre company will usually call it a manufacturing fault and replace the tyre for you.

Thanks for the reply Phil,
I was going to go down that road but I had only purchased the vehicle a few months before, and if that was an example of how the tyres were going to perform, then no thanks.
When I purchased the GT Adventuro tyres I was told of the associated problems with the other brand.
With the GT Adventuro tyres I was also given a guarantee of 70.000klms and a full replacement warranty for 5yrs no questions asked.
Plus I value my life along with other road users.

Sorry Phil, the tyre size is 275x70x16, not that that makes much difference.
Only 10mm

Chris as you have stated you value your life as
well as other, then why wont you inform the wider community on the brand of tyre you had problems with. Others may have the same tyre you have and aren't aware of the problem.
As Phil stated delamination should be covered by manufacturing warranty.

Hi Stephen F,
you have tyre suppliers that are advertising here on the link and I feel it is up to the manufacturer to either make the public aware or have a re call on a certain brand of tyre.
Certain tyre suppliers also told me of the problem when I enquired about replacing the tyres.

I can say, keep a look out on the inside of your tyres near where the bead runs around the rim.
If it shows a crack in the case or wall of the tyre, this is a good indication of what is going on.
3 of the 4 on
mine were very bad, about a 3/16" split all the way around the tyre wall.
