I have a 96 Hilux that is currently running Sunraysia 7jj with Wrangler ATs 31/10.5/15 which converts to about 267/76R15. I am interested in what wheel/ tire size combo people reckon are best on the an older hilux.

I had 89 SR5 2.8D hilux D/Cab LN106 and had BF's A/T's 31/10/15's, If you go any bigger they will scrape on inner guards when turning or flexing when 4wdriving. It will also make a difference in take off speed etc and if you have a 2.8D then you will no exactly what I mean when needing all the power you can get LOL. Above is correct myn did come with 16's from the factory but I put Sunraysia's on
mine as you obviously have. Personaly I wouldnt go any bigger but everybody to there own depends on what you use it for, as mentioned above insurance if with the NRMA as I am WILL BE an issue if going wider. They will only insure wheels an inch wider then what they come from the factory with there was nothing said about rolling diameter. Regards Steve M

Thanks,
I think I will stick with the 31/10/15's. Power is an issue:)
Cheers,
Tim
