Interesting to read of peoples opinions in Olcoolone post 49331
down the page. When did you last see a comparison test of utes
actually doing what they were designed for...carrying a load ???
I recall such a test many, many years ago in a 4wd mag, that put
4 single cab utes through the same test carrying their rated load,
at that time a tonne each. Power was the standard diesels of the
time, probably less than 2.5 L & no turbos. Rigs were supplied by
the dealers as I recall, Anyway the result was a disaster for all but Hilux & you could read a reprint of the article in every Tojo dealers
for years after. It would be interesting to see such a test
repeated now. You would be hard pressed to even find the rated
load carrying capacity in adverts today.......oldbaz.
