Just thought I'd let everyone know that Phillips are about to release +80% halogen headlight globes in a couple of months.
No to sure at this stage what colour range they are going to do but I would think it will be the same as there current globes.
The largest they do at the monent is the +50% range not including there high power globes.
So if you are going to upgrade it may pay to wait a few months.
Regards Richard

On a similar note I notice Lightforce advertising 50 watt HID
driving lights but can't find any info on them. I thought all HID globes were 35 watt, is this a new wave to keep sales ticking along?

Hi mark,It looks like they will end up at the same wattage as normal lights probably 130w.I convert lights for alot of the rally cars and new lights.Around $290.I've got 55w lights arriving next week to test in a MITSUBISHI LANCER EVO 7.Itwill be interesting to see if you can pick a difference betwwen the 2.
Regards
Grant

130 watt HID! You'd be able to beam 'em up to the moon with that sort of light. Surely they'll stop at a 'sensible' limit? Of course I'd love to have something like that but personally don't think I'd like to have them in my eyes while waiting a few seconds for an oncoming driver to finally dip.
Cheers,
Mark.

50 watt HID's have been out for a while now, Light Force are just one of the first ones to get on the band wagon with advertising and to use then in a automotive application.
Haven't see the 50 watt version yet, we have theHella 35 watt version.
