Not sure on that one?
It might have just started up.

The Amateurs have a great service going for everyone, so if anyone is interested in Amateur Radio get in touch with the Wireless Institute of Australia for details on how to become an Amateur, or how to contact an Amateur Radio club in your area.

The morse code has been dropped from the requirements, and you also can study from home in your spare time on your own computer.

Hope this is also of help.
It is another way of staying in contact as you get more privelledges and bands.
Here is a link to the WIA and Foundation Licence: http://www.wia.org.au/

Cheers

Hi Richard,
no on the selcall as these are Licenced Amateurs operating on Amateur bands,.

Re stations: Amateurs from all Australian states including Tassie call in and monitor the Travellers net, so if the net controller cannot here a station then a relay station will relay if necessary.
It is a free service.

The Travellers net has a call back similar to the RFDS.
I hope this helps.
