Tks for your response. You told me to go in and find streetnavigator and untick it and then T4A would operate. trouble is that you were talking about a NUVI and
mine is a 510.There is no T4A stuff preloaded on to it.
I have a new 2 Mb SD card so do I purchase T4A from Oz
shop.
If it's supplied in CD form then I'm going to have a problem getting it on to the card, right?, or can I use the USB cord off my Canon IXUS to shift it from the CP box to the navigator.
I'm a dummy so monosyllables will be fine Tks

Well of course it's not going to be in your GPS if you havent bought it, No problems, you buy it already on a card then you can if you wish copy it to the 2 GB card, I just installed it to my Daughters Quest , the Quest has enough memory to hold T4A and City Nav' V7 , I also installed it to a c510 owned by a Truckie in Canowindra, his works a treat.

Tks Doug but a couple more Q's Does the 510 have enough internal memory so that i can download T4A on to it and dispense with using an SD card (if it's only 35mb).
I haven't been to the site yet because wanted to get the guff on downloading first but is there anything I need to know re download procedure? e.g. will Pc recognise that it has additional drive on it when I hook up

Look forget all about the hype and savings and shonkeymaps and Ebay's , the Mapping software I have for T4A is 76.9mb, If you want to use some software that's only 35mb then your wasting your time as
well as
mine, If you want the contour lines then don't expect to load the lot unless you have at least a 2gb SD Card , 594.3mb covers Australia , and no doubt you will want to have some MP3s on it , some Redlight,Speed Camera, School, plus 1000s of other extra Points of Interest on top of what is already in the City Navigator Software , like over 1,000,000 of them I think ,
To install T4A or MP3s you do not need to connect the GPS to the PC , just insert the Card into the required slot and treat it like a drive, for the POIs check my web page

If you have no City Navigator Software then you must get T4A on the SD card unles of course you have Garmins Waypoint Manager software

Hi wigger, you can download T4A for free it's only about 35 megs, or you could also download 330 megs Shonkymaps which is much better than T4A Or buy the T4A Topo for about $60
Dougs website has the screen shots of T4a and topo but not sure if he has for Shonkymaps

Tks skippy Will go with the smaller T4A to start with but i did download Shonkymaps a while ago (340Mb). onto PC hard drive.
I understood that a USB transfer could be a bit flaky so maybe I should stay away from this. Is the transfer time very much greater than the orig download?

I have a problem with my USB port on my 60C so i do all my downloads via Com1. It doesn't take long if you use USB, Shonkymaps will be better overall
