Hi all,
Could someone advise me where the best place to connect the hose from a turbo boost guage to. Maybe the pipe out of the turbo before the intercooler? or after the intercooler? Or maybe I could be directed to a site with this info. I have been searching but can only find info on where to mount the guage..... nothing on the connection where to take the reading from.
Thanks, PMK

Chaz...whatr a cool website, only had a quick look but well done.

Ur little Isuzu rig looks great and very well designed all round.

Just a quick question....the pillar pod, did you make it yourself or is it commercially available?

Good mix of guages, EGT, Volts and boost, just what I should install in the rodeo but lacking time to dedign my own.

Appreciate your input.

Matt.

Hi Chaz,

Thanks for the info & the look at your great site.... It's a wealth of information for a GU owner.
I was thinking of connecting to the turbo outlet pipe before the intercooler. You have just made up my mind, Thankyou. Next I will be installing the EGT Guage too.
Also I like your idea of the fan on the intercooler. I will probably do that as well.

Hi Matt & PMK,
Those gauge pods are available, but the triple ones are getting scarce. Try TJM or 4WDMegastores or you can get the Autron twin gauge ones, which I think look better, from the 4X4Store. It replaces the trim, but needs to be painted and have the holes cut out.
Unfortunately I had to sell the old Isuzu truck, but it was a great rig.

PKM, I’ve done a considerable amount of testing and when I checked there wasn’t any measurable pressure drop across the intercooler, so I thought the outlet would produce a cooler signal to the gauge. I also ran a thermocouple from the inlet and outlet hoses and notices up to 20Deg difference on a hot day with the intercooler fan running, but have since changed the fans thermostat to a 70DegC unit because it ran too often when the temps were down using the 50DegC thermo switch. This should extend the life of the fan because my first one only lasted about two years.
