Hi All,
We were wondering if anyone has been through Quobba Station, Red Bluff and Gnarloo recently and can tell us the road/track conditions.
We stayed at Quobba this time last year but the road was very badly corrugated and as we are towing with camper trailer and a couple of kayaks on the top, we may need to throw a couple of extra straps on.
Also heading into Ningaloo for a few weeks and on to Karajini and Milstream Gorge and then to the Pilbara. Hope to see a few of you on the road.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Was up there at Gnaraloo about 3 weeks ago. The dirt road was pretty good (smooth and wide) right thru to the saltworks crossroads, then got a bit worse on the Gnaraloo leg, but still pretty good - was narrower, but still pretty smooth. The one wet patch should have dried up by now. A guy pulled a very old standard caravan thru ok, tho he was going pretty slow.
The wildflowers were pretty good on the track. Snorkelling on the coral reef at Gnaraloo was fantastic.
Gnaraloo is not that cheap to stay, but we reckon it was worth it. They've got a small shop with essentials, and there is internet as well, incl wifi. You'll need to take fresh water, or buy it at the shop, but the hot showers are brackish. Take some salt-water shampoo and soap.
Could be starting to get a bit windy there this time of year. Warroora certainly was.

Hello just came back from Gnarloo,

Camping at quobba at blow holes was good, dont leave things lying around, fishing rods that were tied on to back of a toyota outside the camp were stolen overnight, the caretakers said they have no authority of who comes into the shacks, and this happens every now and again.

The road to Gnarloo was okey make sure you take a trip out as far as you can go to the last gate its spectacular, camping is much better at Red Bluff and cheaper.

cheers Mike

oh and the road from Coral bay along the coast thru Gardia station was a bit rough that took you the back way to Ningaloo station we carried onto to Yardie creek which is dry , we came back same way but from Ningaloo took the road straight to the highway instead of going back along coast to Coral Bay the road was corrugated to buggery but wide
fishing was sensational, off the beach.
was just starting to get windy last week. no flies though.

Cheers Mike,
We did the road into Ningaloo twice last year and it was rough so we were going to try from Coral Bay along the coast this time.
Good to hear that Yardie creek is dry as the last report from early August was that it was open to the sea and not crossable. Shame about the wind starting, but you cant have everything in Paradise.

Cheers,

Chris

If you're going into Millstream and on to Karijini, the corugations on the Ningaloo road are nothing to worry about!

If you stay up around 80 klm/h then it aint too bad.
