Did you get permission and how did you get there contact details or has anyone else know how or if permission is required?

It's private property so yes you need permission. I would start by calling the manger on (08) 8648 1884.

Hi Christian,
You must first obtain permission, the new Manager is Nathan. I did not speak to him , but the owners of the Station who live here in
Clare.
A stone wall was built around Childera outcrop in 1932. With as little as 30mm of rain, the run off is channelled into a large stone holding
tank, and the overflow in a large dam. We were out there in July. I will put a few photos in my members profile.
Cheers
Stephen

Christian,
I should have said, like Trevor below, they do not allow anyone to travel through
Lake Everard Station (because of past problems with people not doing the right thing.) The only way that they will allow anyone to see Childera Rockhole, is to come in from
Googs Track. What I also did mention, was that with 30mm of rain the catchment area of Childera outcrop will collect and run off 450,000 litres of
water to the stone
tank and dam.
Cheers
Stephen

In Oct 05 I was lucky enough to gain permission to cross but it was only luck because there was a new manager who wasn't aware the policy was not to give permission (I gather he got a bit of a wrap over the knuckles about it!).
We met and chatted with the owners and all was great (we gave them a few supplies etc) Unfortunately it is the old story of a few bad experiences ruining it for everyone else.
My understanding is that getting permission is very rare.
The rockhole is very interesting, I will put a picture or 2 on my gallery if I get a chance.
Cheers
Trevor

Hi
I didn't get permission in advance - from my reading of the
sign at
Farina I don't believe it's necessary. You just drive to
Mulgaria HS and pay the $25 there. I don't know if you realise it but you start the road at the campground at
Farina. I don't know what you are supposed to do if you go in from Amdamooka - probably the same thing. I did 'phone first but just got an answering m/c. As long as you catch up with someone at
Mulgaria and pay you're OK.
Happy days
George

Sorry Christian - just read your post again - properly!
I got permission from the Mt Everard H/S in advance but didn't get to do it - I had a bad motor accident. I found them to be very accmomodating but I did have a relative that knows the Mt I've people very
well and I told them about it so that might have helped.
Hope you all
well
George

Hi Christian
Yes Di and I are the Memory Cove people-we're still in
Adelaide-at
Blackwood.
Yes thanks - all good again albeit with only 1/3rd of the original thumb on my right hand and a shoulder with restricted movement - but it's a miracle I'm here though so i thank my lucky stars
Di and I have just got back from a trip to the Gulf -
Karumba - have a look at post 49398. The Triton has proved a great vehicle for us - and thew tyres are same ones I had when we met you two 35,000kms now!
If you receive my email (referred to above) you'll have my email address-if you have changed the 'streets' let me know and I'll send to your new one.
Kind regards
George

Good to hear George I think we told you last time we have another rug rat and had 9 weeks in the Kimberleys last year and have had a lot of weekends away since.
We are heading down towards
Nelson,
Glenelg River way in a couple of weeks for 10 days and planning a 3month trip for next june travelling the east coast.
I am trying to plan a boys weekend in october to travel
Goog's track so I will contact Everard station to see if we can get permission.
Apart from that still installing skylights and always improving car and camper, have been told to move out to the shed. Not a bad idea I reckon.
Keep in touch.
