Gday Guys
Just wondering if anybody has used the new 2007 diesel auto for towing a camper trailer. Ive always had manuals but am looking at the diesel auto.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Have a good one

In all honesty I can't give you an opinion on the Prado. I can however recommend auto for everyday driving and in particular towing. Most manufacturers will encourage autos as the best choice when towing. Provided the vehicle is fitted with a transmission fluid cooler (many autos are but it pays to check) and you understand about avoiding leaving the selector in overdrive and enabling P power selector you shoudn't experience any problems. Also have a look at this
Link for some additional useful info re Prados. Good luck with your chooice.

G'day DIO,
Could you please shed some more light on your comment 'avoiding leaving the selector in overdrive and enabling P power selector'?
Thanks

Hi Diesel82
i have a 2007 D4D,auto, have towed a camper trailer on a couple of occasions, handles great. auto seems to handle the situation.
towing was on the black top only though, not offroad.
have been offroad many times without the C/T, just let the auto do the work & it seems to work it out OK.
great vehicle, u won;t be disappointed.
cheers Tom
