I am heading up to karrajini and then across to Coral Bay in the October school holidays and noticed this road/track which I could use to get me form Millstream across to Pannawonica. Has anyone out there done this track and if so can you advise what I should expect and how long should I allow for the journey.Ii would be tackling it in an LC100 with a HD offroad camper.

Drove the same 'track' last year. Quite a well graded gravel road, with very few washouts (depending on rain). I can't remember how long it took us, but most of it could easily be travelled at 60-80km/hr

Of course that was over a year ago, but it does seem to be well used/maintained.

Rob,
i live in karratha mate, and done the track a few times this year.
Its in good nick, although the pilbara iron access road is currently closed. shouldnt effect you if your heading through panna, but you can phone the tourist information center in karratha to find details on 08 91444600. they are pretty helpful.Millstream to panna, your looking at 3-4 hours, just take it easy. 80kmph is a good speed on this road, but keep in mind its unfenced, so wildlife do stray onto it. we've had no rain for months and there is none forecast for a while, so will be nice and dry and dusty for ya mate. Also there is no fuel at millstream, so carry plenty, and the only place you can get drinking water is at the ranger's quarters, although you can drink the water from the millstream crossing, just catch it where it is flowing.
Hope this all helps mate.
Cheers

I can confirm what Wayne says, a couple of us used this road in mid-July and it was excellent. No problems at all other than a bit of red dust.
