Just purchased a set of 5 New Bridgestone Duelers A/T D693's, on the LC 100 Series, thanks to Justin71 and Steve from Top end Tours for the advice, Got them from KMart Tyres $269.00 each, the Manager their said that had just come back from doing 6 weeks of serious off roading and 3 of the vehicles had the Duelers A/T 694's which are made in Japan and not one of the vehicles had any tyre problems.........the 693's are made in Australia and are surposed to be more suited to our road conditions.

Ummm ....where, he had a post earlier that said his are from Thialand

Kev , we are talking one product here, the 693

Sand Man (SA) replied:
The Bridgestone 694 Dueler is a good tyre for the price.
The Bridgestone 693 Dueler is "maybe" even better if you can still get them.

The 693 is made in Japan and Bridgestone were planning to stop importing them, in favour of the 694, which is now made in Australia. The carcasses are identical for both.
======================================
Kev...OK so he said the 694 was made in Australia and the 693 in Japan , If I can get Jap ones I would be just as happy ,

but as I said to Sandman, I seen 4 new 693s in Barmera 4 weeks ago stamped Made in Australia

hey there guys I was just browsing through the talk and got curious,I have a set 285/16 d694 on a eighty series wagon with about 65000 ks on this set and they are probably 70% worn . We just finished a trip of 8000ks which 5000ks would have been on gravel and only had one flat which was a nail on the tanimi so I can't blame the tire for that .The blocks are just starting to show a little bit of shredding .They perform really good on the beach and I was quite impressed with them on the powerline run we did this weekend.And I went out and checked (in the rain) and they are made in Japan, ut then again so is the cruiser cheers

Hi All,
I was down at a Bridgestone dealer here in Perth the other day, and he told me that the 694's with raised white lettering were made in Japan and the 694's with raised black lettering were now made in Aus !

Hi Mike and all
When I took delivery of our new vevicle recently, it had to have new tyres. Because of the strange size, 265/65 17", the local tyre dealer whick sells all the major tyre brands said that they were having trouble with the Cooper ATR, chipping of tyres, and very poor milage with the type of country roads in our local area.

He said that, they were having very good reports and milage results of the Bridgestone 694, which is made in Edwardstown, here in SA. He said that 3 Prados in the area have swapped from Coopers to the new SA made 694 and said they were like chalk and cheese. Likewise I have put on the new 694's, and will have to see for myself. I can also give a fair comment, as on my old faithful Pajero,I have had both Cooper ATR and ST/C.

Also another point of interest, during a previous desert venture, when we had punctures repaird at Birdsville, they also had Bridgestone tyre to sell off of the rack.

Time will tell.

Your right Stephen, when KMart Tyres phoned Bridgestone in Perth to order my tyres, they said that they only have 20...... 693's left in stock.........they recon that I should get at least 80,000kms out of them
