The effects of the quake were felt very strongly in Jakarta where the office bulidings were shaking and most buildings were evacuated.

Come on Doug – get with it – or have you become one of those “Dooms'dayers!”

“If humans do not learn to adapt to new living conditions then they are doomed. They can swim and will make for hard ground if the conditions should change beyond their comfort zone.”

“It's a natural process just running its course. Good luck to the ones who are trying to reverse this. Let the worriers do the worrying and we will do the living.”

“I will go for Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection and survival of the fittest. Them's the breaks for the Humans unless we Polar Bears:) intervene and relocate them to solid ground”

“It had has been said that if ALL the ice on this planet should melt, then the seal levels would rise by 70metres. That, in my opinion is negligible.”

…..So what’s the big deal about one small wave? Probaly wont even reach the top of my gutters:)

LOL

Cheers

PS Have you ever read a book called "How to lie with Statitics"? I mean... are these earthquake guys for real or are they just making it up for fun, because they can?

Dear Greg

Yer lost the plot....eh? While it does all seem in jest, I wonder about what is to be read between the lines.

Quoting me and others while attacking Doug. Are you going to regurgitate everything we say on this forum so as to bolster your own theories?

People who live by the coast and on river floodplains put the Survival of the Fittest theory to the test.

I would be keen to see the scratch marks after you have loved the Polar Bears....lol

Sorry Willem - all in complete jest, in my usual sarcastic manner. While it may, at times seem other wise I have complete respect for everyones right to their own opinion (however wacky) and I certainly do not think less/bad of anyone who disagrees with what I think. Wasnt trying to change anyones opinions or bolster my own on the subjects in question - impossible task on a forum like this.

Best course of action is to ignore my statements or come back with something wittty, though feel free to call me rude names as sometimes I may deserve it.

The one and only aim of my post was to be funny .....someone tell me it was funny - please someone!!

All the best

Greg
PS in answer to your question - yes:)

Richard - my post was in jest. You will need some background knowledge (see thread 49484) and a bad sense of humour

Tsunami warnings should of course be taken seriously (lust like other warnings issued by people "in the know")

Hope all is well

Cheers
Greg

OK, OK , OK....

Just remember that some people in low lying areas of Australias West coast got thier first hint of a problem via this forum!

The first I heard about it was, & if I was in a vunerable location, I'd investigate further with the help of Doug's early warning.

I would hope that in the future, serious warnings can be posted to alert people who may not have the TV or Radio on at the time.

Indeed, thread 49484 was an interesting read, but not immediately life threatning like as a Tsunami would be in the next 2-6hrs.

On a side note, I hope that this wont stop you posting your form of humour in the appropriate places as we all need a good laugh here & there.

Cheers & yes all is well.

Richard.
