Considering doing this trip next year. However we have a camper trailer and it is recommended not to take it across the Simpson. Can anyone advise if they have left their trailer at
Marree, or some where near, when doing this trip. Prefer to start at
Marree as we also want to spend sometime in the Flinders. Thanks

Talk to the Maree Caravan
park. We left ours there for a few days 2 years ago.

We stayed at the caravan
park on the western side of the Ghan line not the one just out of town and the guy there is very friendly and helpful, speak to him i'm sure he will help or even look after your trailer for you.

That where we left ouse Baz. I think the CP is owned by the same people who own the fule /
general store just down the road.
The other thought is the Pub. They have a yard out the back.

Thankyou for your common sense in not trying to drag a camper across the Simpson. The caravan parks in
Marree both look safe. the guy in the
camp on the left heading North was very helpful last July. I would trust him if he allows vans to be stored there. Chris.

If your Camper trailer is biult for off road then it should be able to do the trip.
I went over the Simpson West to East (
rig road) in July 2004 with 2 other vehicles also towing campers and we never looked like getting bogged once, done it easy .
But the Simpson can change so much from year to year we were lucky and strike it after a rain.
We did see some trailers (not campers) that didn't make it over but they were not off road type trailers just garden type trailers, that should off never left the black top.
Cheers .. Scoof ..
