G'day all,
I am new to this forum and also new to GPS, I have a TomTom One XL and would like to navigate to Latitude & Longitude coordinates as listed in Camps Australia Wide 3, each time I try to enter the coordinates TOMTOM responds with a message like no usable ----- under cursor, I sent a message to Tom Tom Support group on 04/09/2007 but to date cannot get a reply. Can someone please help? It would be greatly appreciated.

Some Navigational units won't allow you to enter coordinates as such. I have a Garmin Quest and it's simply a matter of moving the cursor to the desired position on the map and routing to it. Someone with a Tomtom may be able to provide more concise information although some of their units are pretty basic.

G'day DIO,
Many thanks for the reply to my question, I am happy to say that I have now learned how to enter the coordinates as latitude & longitude, for example enter them thus S32.52.36 degrees E121.10.21 degrees, the important thing is to place the dot between each set of figures not S32 52 36 degrees that will not work, this was my big mistake.
I hope I have been able to explain it in a manner that is not ambiguous.
Once again many thanks.

John

I have an OV2 (TomTom data file) which contains POI Camps Australia Wide.

I have a HP PDA GPS which uses TomTom. I use the file and it is very useful.

I can email the file to you.

G'day Tjilpi,

Many thanks for your reply and offer, I have the OV2 POI Data File of Camps Australia Wide, my main objective was to be able to enter a coordinate, Latitude & Longitude, into the TomTom unit, I have now learned how to do this, after some considerable playing around. I simply wanted to be able to navigate to a Latitude & Longitude of a camp site on my route.

The manual is about as useful as hip pockets on a singlet and the TomTom support team are even worse, in fact to date non-existent.

Once again many thanks
Regards
John

Hi,

I got my vo2 file at the Touring OZ forum in the Documents Folder, I believe that they are compatible with all TomTom units.

If you email me at johnhyde4@bigpond.com I can email the file and installation instructions to you.
