I spoke with one of the
Gas Pipeline Managers based in Peterbrough on Friday.
There is no restriction as to who may travel the pipeline track and it is unlikely that you will be challenged if using the track as it is a normal access road for supplies coming to Pumping Stations. They do however monitor what is happening along the pipeline track, as in the past, idiots have shot at gas installations along the way. There may also be locked gates near gas facilities and the need may arise to take another route away from the pipeline.
Cheers

I seem to recall that Ron Moon copped a verbal bashing from one of the crew, when found too close to a pumping station in the Northern area.
Do you have any Information on this?

Hi Kim
No, don't know about that. Ron must've written about it in an article in 4x4 Mag.

From memory it came from a local fella I was having a beer with in
Daly Waters.
It would be interesting to get Ron's view if, indeed, it did happen.

Yeah maybe.
Ron and Viv are now on their World Trek and somewhere between Cape Town and Cairo or somewhere beyond.
Cheers
