My mechanic told me of a horror story of dirty fuel, in a D40 Navara.
Cost the owner a new set of injectors, plus other work. Cost per injector $700, WOW !
Is this right ?????
Wwhat is the world coming too ! ???
And the all up cost was $5000, so what else happened, I don't know
Fussy bloody things arn't they ( new motors ! )

All these new electronic fuel pumps and injectors are very susceptable to
water damage and very costly to repair. It pays to drain
water traps and replace fuel filters regulary.

This has got me baffled. If a motor is sensitive to fuel quality, should not the manufacturer take the time to develop and fit a fuel filtering system to avoid this happening?

Now is this a case of;
"great minds think alike"
or is it?
"fools seldom differ".

a bit o/t but in the last 2 weeks we have had 2 unleaded diesal vehicles come in on the back of tow trucks
one a zd30 navara filled with unleaded got about 20 metres then stopped the other was a new 3ltr d4d prado same thing got about 10 metres then stopped.
drained both vehicles put 40ltrs of diesal in used the
hand pump till diesal was coming out replced fuel filter and away they went not a problem in either.
theese high tech fuel pumps do give a little bit.
2 things i hated about both theese jobs.
(1)being a petrol owner i hated dumping 100+litres of fuel
(2)neither have a drain plug(prado has on little
tank)
cheers

Fuel
tank drain plugs seem to have dissapeared years ago.
What is wrong with the modern fuel filtering? A friends BMW diesel cost him $5K after a drink of bad fuel.
