I would like some information on who supplies and fits V8 Diesel motors for Toyota 100 series . Also is it possible to fit one in where a 4.5 EFI petrol now lives? There is a company north of
Brisbane but for the life of me I can't remember their name.
I know the other options of purchasing the new 200 series or a Chevy Silverado but a bit expensive at present .
Cheers
Ramo

yes Brunswick Diesels are
well renowned for this work, but they are not in
Perth.

Brunswick
Junction is around 140km south of
Perth close to Bunbury. It's a small rural town that used to rely on milking industry. Prolly not a bad place to stay for the period of your transplant as long as you've got another car to tour around.

Hello Ramo,
No problems replacing a petrol engine, there are a few extra costs as opposed to a diesel and the trade in on your 4.5 will be less than a 1HZ or the factory turbos. Had a quote for a conversion from 3f to chev a couple of years ago from linquip. Was about 20k.
Cheers,
Dave

$17,500 for a 4.5 petrol H151 manual to 6.5V8 Chev at Brunswick last time I looked in to it.
It will be more for a diesel donor vehicle as they have the weaker R151 gearbox.
$17.5K buys a lot of fuel for the 2- 3l/100km saving. keep in mind the 4.5 petrol has a lot of torque.
I've owned both. I'll keep driving the petrol and save my money until the new Toyota 4.5 V8 CRTDI's have proven themselves.

Thanks everybody for your answers, I will take everything on board. The thing that started me thinking was the couple of
hill starts I had to do when towing my 18'6" Kedron ATV home on Friday. Realy made the car work to get it off the line, and that's with a new HD clutch , plus the cruiser has been chipped , extractors...
Will think seriously about the benefits.
Thanks to all of you .
regards
Ramo

Hi Ramo, Could you not use low range to get it going! I quite often put it into 4 low to reverse up our driveway. Saves the cluth no end. I have your engine in my Maverick on duel fuel and it powers on like a treat. I too have thought about a diesel conversion but that sort of money buys a hell of a lot of fuel over many years. Is you vehicle duel fuel? Cheers, Chambo
