G’day folks
Just a quickie, I need a new crank battery for a 4.2TD patrol after doing a search here and on the net I would still like to know what others are using
At this stage I think I will stick to the wet cell variety any comments most welcome

Yuasa Overlander - 700 CCA (many makes are commonly 600CCA).
3 years old - has done quite a bit of rough outback travel - still good.

Bugger, the number for the AC Delco is S95D31 LHD or RHD, which ever side your battery is on.

You'll get as many different opinions to this question as there are batteries on the market.
In my case I've been using 4 Super Charge Gold Series for a few years now. These have 760CCA, which is the highest rating I've seen ina standard size casing. They are a maintenance free type of battery.
I've had a pair of them in my camper trailer for about 3 years now and also have 2 in the Patrol, joined permanently as starter batteries for the Chev.
Cheers
Roachie

After having had a sealed calcium battery spill it's guts all down the left side of my engine bay I will be sticking with wet lead acid now. I now have an Exide extreme.

Well after chasing around a few battery suppliers ended up with a
Acdelco 730 CCA will see how it performs
And BTW try not to break the Nissan + terminal connector was told it had to come from Japan, nearly fell over when parts bloke told me the price, around a $140 comes with the cable to starter motor
And thanks for your replies once again
