Hi

We have just returned home from our trip which included
Googs Track, went through Tarcoola no services there looked
more like a ghost town, unless you can get fuel at the mine.
the pub at Kingoonya has recently reopened but we didn't
notice if there was fuel for the vehicle!!

Cheers

Tarcoola is now only a camp for the rail gangs, the few times I have been there, travellers/tourists are tolerated not welcomed, no fuel, and unless things have recently changed no fuel at Kingoonya either. If the mine there is like most other remote sites, if you are in genuine trouble they will help you out, but don't expect to be able to arrive there and resupply. You should be able to go from Ceduna to Glendambo with a single jerry can in most vehicles. Both times I have done it though the track is very rough, towards the end I am usually cursing that if I come across someone boasting they don't need to lower thieir tyres I will punch their lights out.

Have Fun

Hi fishaholic
As others have stated, no fuel at Tarcoola. If you are not able to travel from Glendambo to Ceduna on a tank full, take extra fuel in Jerrys as a safety backup.

We did this track recently. Very cut up at the northern end, from people not knowing how to drive in sand and wrong tyre pressures. I would come from the North and down the track, this way you will avoid the very badly rutted approaches to the dunes and be a more pleasant drive.

Enjoy your trip and safe travels.

thanks all for your replies, we've done the track 3 times already and have done it both ways. And as said it is alot smoother going north to south. Anyway the reason I asked about fuel was because we want to go out to a few rock holes and other attractions. I think I'll just take some jerrys, the fuel the other guy in our convoy bought was from the mines I think, u give them your credit card details and they send you a card which you scan through a machine next to a pump down from the pub. Im sure it would still be there.
