We will be heading back from the Mungindi Music Festival in early October and thought we may take the opportunity to pass through the Pilliga
State Forest and Pilliga
Nature Reserve.
Anyone have any recent knowledge about the Pilliga Forest or Reserve? We have Lewis and Savage "Western & Outback New South Wales" but this is September 2000 edition and may be a little out of date.

there was a lot of fire damage when i was there in march but it most of it was open and i would think they've repaired a few areas by now but you may want to check the
state forest web site. i don't know much about the area though sorry, i was just driving through and thought i'd take a look at the forest
